Our story

From a garage roaster to your kitchen

Brew Element started in a Portland garage with a secondhand 5-kilo roaster, a notebook of cupping scores, and a stubborn idea. Seven years later the roaster is bigger and the notebook is a spreadsheet, but the idea hasn't changed.

Coffee tastes better when nothing about it is rushed.

We roast in small batches every Monday, source directly from farmers we know by name, and taste every batch before it ships. The brew gear on our shelves is the same gear on our counters at home — we sell what we use, and nothing else.

What we stand by

Three promises on every bag

01

Roasted weekly

Every bean we sell is roasted on Monday and shipped within 48 hours. If it's older than two weeks, it never leaves the building.

02

Sourced directly

We pay above fair-trade rates and visit our partner farms in Ethiopia, Colombia, and Guatemala every harvest season.

03

Gear we actually use

Every brewer, grinder, and kettle in the shop earns its place on our own brew bar first. No filler, no gimmicks.
